Beyond the Veil: Ancestors and DescendentsDate/Time
Date(s) - 10/04/2019 - 10/06/2019
Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center, Hiawatha IA
This event concludes a seven-year cycle and ushers in a time of transition. The philosophy we serve is ultimately rooted in group interaction and integrity, and so community conversations, in 2020, will shape the next iteration of this beloved community, but this autumn in Iowa we will offer our last event as Expanding Inward. This event will, appropriately, focus on the work of legacy.
Beyond the Veil: Ancestors and Descendants
Tradition holds that the veil between the worlds thins as we move into the dark time of the year. The voices of those who have come before, our ancestors of both blood and spirit, reach out to us — speaking to us of legacy, of healing, of lessons learned. How can we open our hearts and souls to hear them more clearly? What do they have to teach us that we then can pave the way for those yet to come — our descendants of both blood and spirit. What is the inheritance we will leave for them? Ancestor work can be at once challenging and transformative, heartfelt and hard. We will strive to build a container to hold all of it as we work towards shaping these important relationships. Join us as we sing, dance, share stories, give offerings, dream the future, and hold space with those who have gone before and those who are yet to come.
