Gratitude

Here’s the thing about community: it becomes its own Being.

The Expanding Inward community was born out of the Diana’s Grove Mystery School community, the work of which quite literally changed our lives.

Central to that work is the belief that Community itself is the entity that drives the work. That the Community ordains its leaders, that those leaders are in service to the circle formed when a group of people come together with intention, with love, and with a deep desire to do something important.

Within that circle every voice is needed, and no voice predominates. Just as, when we sing together, it is the Song itself that raises the hair on our arms, seals the work of the ritual, carries our magic out into the world.

This is our Song of goodbye, from those who were deeply honored to serve this community for the past seven years, woven from the words of each of us, because in truth we each harmonize on the same melody…

We are so grateful.

In offering this work, in serving this community, from You, we learned more than we ever thought possible. We experienced some of the proudest moments of our lives, deep, right-sized pride in what we can and have created together, all of us, through this work.

You showed us, over and over again, that we can believe in magic, by showing up and making magic with us.

Because You showed up, we were blessed to step, with you, into sacred space. To be vulnerable, to seek deeper meaning, to forge incredibly strong connections to the things that we love. May we never, ever take that blessing for granted.

It is a rare privilege to be able to say a genuine good-bye in a way that truly honors the past, acknowledges the present, and creates space for the future. We were gifted the opportunity to do that, with many of you, in person at our final event in October. Together we connected with our ancestors and descendants of blood, spirit and lineage. We thanked the past, we acknowledged the present as a time of transition, and we spoke about the future.

Here’s the thing about community: It becomes its own Being. The future of this community is for this community to decide.

In 2020 there will be invitations to community conversations. Those who feel called to the work of discovering the next shape of this Being, know that there will be space made to support and manifest that work. If you want to be sure to have input on scheduling, and receive notification of those conversations, sign up for the DG/EI Community Conversation mailing list:

At Diana’s Grove Mystery School, an incredible community came together and created and sustained magic. When that form came to an end, the community re-shaped itself, flowed into the new form that was offered as Expanding Inward, and carried that magic forward. As we step out of the form in which we are in service to this community as leaders, as we fold back into the leaderless, leader-full circle of the community itself, we don’t know what will happen next. But we believe in this community’s brilliance. We believe in our desire to touch the mysteries of birth, life, and death. We believe there is magic to come, whatever form it may take.

We are grateful.

Like the magic and the music, the gratitude is truly shared among us. So very grateful for our interactions–the big ones and the ones so small they are no longer in conscious memory.

Many Blessings to each of you for the generosity and clarity of the work you shared with us — some of us in person, many more in the ether of the internet. The Work has been lovely and amazing. I hope you can feel our gratitude.
