Being worked by a story
As a team and individually, Expanding Inward has been working for several months with the story of Orpheus & Eurydice as we plan for the weekend we are offering in late March. I say individually because as River has told us over and over, when you start working with a story it starts working you. I have questioned that in the past. I don’t anymore.
We decided to call the weekend, Don’t Look Back: Orpheus and Eurydice. One of the things we learned about offering trance work is the subconscious doesn’t hear negatives. I have come to the conclusion that the only thing my subconscious has been hearing for months is “Look Back” and then translated look back into look deeper, look underneath the obvious. I have been looking back and not reliving my past, but finding what feels like one of the deep roots that defined my life. When that root started and grew it made sense to my life, it fit, it fed me. The thing is it is still defining my life but it doesn’t feed me anymore. In fact, just the opposite is true, it is depleting me and I had no idea it even existed. This story is working me…hard. And I sense an amazing, powerful, and positive change has been seeded in my soul that will begin to take root soon. A seed that never would have found fertile soil without working with this story.
One of the reasons I like working with stories is it seems a story never works exactly the same with everyone. Each person finds their own gifts and their own treasures. I am excited to see what this story brings from and to the community that is going to gather. The magic of the weekend has started. It started the day we picked the story and continued to grow the day we decided where to hold the weekend. Magic follows intention. The magic continues to grow day by day as people register to be a part of this beautiful, challenging story.
There’s still time to register, but please make a note of two important upcoming dates: we’ll be confirming our housing needs with the venue on February 26. While we expect to be able to add registrants after that, we can’t guarantee how many additions the venue will be able to accommodate. And, on March 15 we’ll be giving the final headcount to the venue and no more registrations can be added. So:
Register by Tuesday, February 25 to guarantee your spot
Final deadline for all registrations is Friday, March 14.
You can register here.
If you have any questions or need more information, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’ve got a great group of people forming the community for this event… we hope you can join us!
